Gardeners of the Future

Adaptér held a five-day, day-care summer camp for children ages 8–14, where they explored the world of urban plants and ecosystems through creative, outdoor, and playful programs. Participants composted, gardened, and took nature walks while creating their own objects in the workshop—such as bird feeders and insect hotels. The camp aimed to develop children’s creativity, environmental awareness, and community spirit in an experiential way.

Door Openers

Adaptér previously held biweekly open days where anyone could take a look at the space and try out the elements of the permanent exhibition. Visitors could play Adapopoly, a unique board game developed with the Creapoly program, try out the VR experience, 3D printing, the Coded Dilemmas moral puzzle or Adaptér’s giant Snake game. There was a separate activity for the younger ones, but they could also relax in the book corner – the Door Opener was both a social experience and free exploration.

Chair-TER

A custom sun lounger making workshop where participants designed and built their own personalized summer lounger. In the joinery and textile painting workshop, participants not only did the carpentry and assembly work, but also created the design themselves, resulting in truly unique pieces. The program was implemented in collaboration with Vates, who inspired participants with selected quotes so that the end result would stand out on the beach, at a festival or at a garden party.

Creapoly

In our unique board game making course, participants were able to create their own unique game based on their own concept, using 3D printing and laser cutting. The theme, rules, graphics and all game elements were created based on the team’s ideas, with professional support and provided tools. At the end of the workshop, the 2-4 person crea teams returned home not only with an experience, but also with a board game of their own design to take home.

FASHIONlab

Here, fashion and research met sustainable ideas! During the one-month program series, participants examined to what extent shopping for clothes is a necessity, a form of self-expression or even a form of stress management, and how this influences their personality and consumption habits. The goal of the program was to develop a more conscious, sustainable attitude towards the world of fashion and shopping in the participants. It included artwork, a roundtable discussion, an art installation and a dance performance.

Együttműhely – Work(shop) together

In our charity Christmas DIY program series, we combined creation and learning with charity. In the workshop, participants got to know tools and machines, mastered the basics of DIY, while making their own toys or kitchens. These were then given as Christmas gifts to children in need with the help of the Maltese Charity Service and NestingPlay. The goal of the program was to learn, create and bring joy to others at the same time.

Our Schemas

The data-visualized psychological conversation series focused on raising awareness and understanding of maladaptive schemas, i.e. automatic behavioral patterns originating from childhood. Participants examined their own ingrained reactions under the guidance of professionals in order to better recognize and manage them in everyday life. The program aimed to provide participants with tools to develop self-awareness and emotional regulation, while raising awareness of the effects of the past on present behavior.
