Reclaiming Technology Sessions vol.2
HU / A Reclaiming Technology Sessions egy eseménysorozat, amelynek célja annak közös vizsgálata, hogyan működik a technológia, amelyet gyakran semleges eszközként érzékelünk, a társadalmi és nemi előítéletek fenntartásában, miközben manipulálja a mindennapi élet megélt idejének ritmusát, és ezáltal csökkenti a kritikus reflexióra és az inkluzív részvételre való lehetőségeket.
EN / Reclaiming Technology Sessions is an event series dedicated to collectively examining how technology, often perceived as a neutral tool, perpetuates social and gender biases while manipulating the pace of everyday lived time, consequently diminishing opportunities for critical reflection and inclusive participation.

GIRL AI: Playful Subversion with AI & Design
Workshop by Dominika Čupková
Vulnerabilities are flaws in a computer system that weaken the overall security of the system. In this workshop, we will explore the types of vulnerabilities that women and other long-ostracized and silenced groups encounter in the digital environment. Can we collectively generate ideas for a livable future and transform our vulnerabilities into resilience? How can we fight against digital inequality and initiate social changes? What is bias in artificial intelligence? Can feminist and queer practices influence the future of technologies? During the workshop, we will playfully ideate in groups a product that, with the help of AI, reflects or addresses some of these issues from the perspective of the interdependence of activism and aesthetics. The workshop is intended for curious individuals of various genders, backgrounds, and industries.

We invited the interdisciplinary designer Dominika Čupková and the mathematician and product designer Emese Thamó to reflect on topics related to the design of technologies, design of acceleration, how the power to design is distributed and feminist perspectives on design.
What is time to a computer ?
Live Coding Lecture by Silvia Binda Heiserova
This Live Coding audiovisual lecture reflects on the gap between the perception of time by humans and what time represents at the level of computational processes. Using the terminal emulator as an explorative tool for entering the problematics, the lecture scrutinizes different layers of computer-time definitions and concepts, tracing the digitalized time back to hardware tools, companies and their representatives.

About Reclaiming Technology:
Reclaiming Technology is a practice-based research project initiated by Silvia Binda Heiserova as a resident artist of the EU Digital Deal Residencies programme hosted by Pro Progressione. By demystifying, explaining and debating technology, the project aims to question androcentric narratives around technologies and empower women to critically engage with technologies. Finally, it aspires to bring answers to the question: What could be a feminist approach to technology and how to practice it ?
